K.L. Steven is highly qualified and experienced in the production of aerospace and aircraft parts. Our quality department is expressly designed to meet the needs of our aerospace customers such as GE, Honeywell, Boeing, Lockheed and others. We have over 52 years of experience in the aerospace field, as a company, and our management has over 115 combined years of experience in machining aircraft and aerospace parts and the quality requirements unique to this field.

Our employee-retention program has been very successful at retaining highly motivated and experienced quality machinists. Our average tenure for shop personnel is over 10 years. What this means to you is that our machinists are all well acquainted with the proper procedures for handling, inspecting and machining aircraft & aerospace-quality parts.

Jet Engine Parts

Shown here are alternator rotors for aircraft and helicopter jet engines. They are made of A-286, 347 SS, 321 SS, Inconel, and 17-4 PH hardened to 47 Rockwell. Several parts show splines, which we produced in-house on our Fellows gear shapers. The splines in these parts have a 32 micro finish and are deburred to produce a uniform .005-.010 radius on all edges. The external spline, which passes through two slots, was threadmilled in-house, after heat treat, in order to facilitate deburring.
